This little guy was born in May…his family has seen these, and they are some of my favorites!  I did punch up the color for the blog on this first one, I just love it!

And his beautiful big sister, already teaching him to stop and smell the flowers…

He really really liked sleeping in this bowl and didn’t like to sleep much elsewhere, so we went with it!  It matched inside and outside of the gorgeous house anyway!

He was a chunky little guy:

PS – Go Crystal Bowersox!!!  I am bummed that my schedule won’t leave time to go see her, she is amazing!  But it’s for good reason, this newborn session and the Barenaked Ladies tonight!

If you remember the newborn twins from an earlier post…I took a trip back to their house because last time they were so fussy we didn’t make it up to their super cute nursery.  They’re getting albums just like big brother did and we definitely wanted to include some cute room shots.  This time they were feeling better and had some adorable outfits too!  I love the tutu’s!!

I can’t get enough of all their tiny toes:

IT was amazing to see how much they had changed in just a few weeks!

It was wonderful to see you all again!  Baby A is a doll!!!  You should have all of your proofs   I am working hard to get everyone else’s proofs out soon!

I love this next one… and it was so cool, I bring all different things to each newborn session.  I have so much I can’t bring it all.  Well, mom was excited to see this rug because she had a newborn shot of herself just like this one:

The other cool prop I rarely cart around, but for some reason I did this time, are my coke boxes.  Imagine how excited I was to walk in and see this old coke machine sitting in their house!

It was wonderful to meet you all, I bet Sam is really growing now!!  Watch for more soon, I am getting a lot of proofing and albums and ordering done this week, so blog posts should follow!

I might have mentioned it before, but I had been on-call for photographing a birth.  Mom was due in early May, but we thought she might be early… luckily we got her maternity session in the earlier of the two weekends we were considering or we would have missed it!  (those pics will be up soon, I’m going out of order a bit…)   So last weekend, 3 weeks early dad called me at 8AM on a Saturday, he said mom had been laboring all night and the contractions were still 8 minutes apart or so and based on her labor with their 2 year old, today would be the day!  He said he would call back when they were heading to the hospital and if it looked closer I could meet them then.  I was so excited!  I had been getting in the habit of always being ready with batteries charged and memory cards cleared just in case.  So I set everything by the door and went about my day waiting for the next call to leave.

So around 11:45, I saw dad’s name on my cell phone and excitedly answered.  He told me he was on the way to the hospital and the baby was already here.  WHAT???  I thought he was joking…but he told me that she suddenly was about to have the baby and he couldn’t get her to the hospital and had to call 911.  The fire department and EMTs came and delivered the baby on the floor of her entryway and dad was now following the ambulance to the hospital.

So I jumped in the car and drove to the hospital…and I have to admit I cried about half the way there because I was so excited to be a part of her birth and I missed it, and because I knew that it was mom’s dream to have her birth photographed and she missed it.  When I got there, they had just weighed and measured the baby, and the nurses were nice enough to re-enact the weighing for me.  I was able to get some great shots of a proud dad looking over baby A in the warmer, her first bath, her first nursing, getting her feet stamped, the guys who delivered her coming back to get some forms signed and seeing the baby again…and then big sister coming to meet her little sister, along with all the Grandmas and Grandpas and some aunts and uncles coming to meet her.

So like mom said…I was able to get 95% of the things we wanted and what we got were all the beautiful parts.   I was so very honored to be there with them through it all and I teared up going through the images again to get this little slide show (this is not the longer one you will get later mom and dad):

Today I went to their home for her newborn pictures and it was amazing to see how much she’s changed in 6 days.  Watch for those images and the ones from her maternity session soon!

I saw this little one about 2 weeks ago.  He was the biggest mommy’s boy I ever saw, he loves no place more than her arms.   I LOVE the colors of this blanket that was made for him:

OK, I am back!  So, last Friday I got to meet little L.  I have to admit I was a little nervous because L was already 3 weeks old…he was born early and I had hoped to see him before I left on my trip, but it didn’t work out and then by the time I got back we just kept our original appointment.  But I lucked out and he was still a great sleeper, was happy being swaddled when he was awake, and was a perfect little subject.  Check out his gorgeous eyes:

A mom and I were talking about new baby fuzz this morning, so when I saw this image, I had to include it.  Wow does this tug at my heart…they grow too fast and you forget about the sweet little things like this:

This little bassinet/crib has been in the family for decades, it was so cool to be able to include it.  I loved the retro-style pattern on the sheet:
