I’m excited to being doing something really fun and different this year!! Inspired by the photobooth props I see all the time, these mini sessions are going to be very fun and stylized! I’ve got Santa hats on a stick among other props, a snowball fight set up that won’t melt, chocolate milk in old milk bottles with striped paper straws…and more!! I suggest bright and fun outfits, hats, mittens, scarfs! The sessions will be at my new studio in Perrysburg and will be mostly outside.

The full fee will be collected up front, and you will get 4 images on a disk with suggestions for online card designers! I can even help you upload them to their sites and they have some adorable designs!

I haven’t updated here much as it’s the busiest time of year…and add to that a big move for the business!  Check out the facebook page for a little more updating!

Mini sessions always book up in days!  Send me an email if you are interested!  I have been collecting spring ideas all winter…can’t wait to share!!

I emailed the details to a waiting list first, and have these slots left:

(minus a few emails waiting in my inbox this morning, I’ll get back to you in the order I heard from you when I get back from an appointment later today!)

If you’re interested email me the time slots you are available  (20 minute sessions starting every half hour, so final spots are 4:30 or 5:30 each day)  I’ll reply back with confirmation and instructions for the $50 required to hold the spot.

I’m really excited about these, I had been planning to try to find another spot this year after being at the tree farm for a few years in a row…but then I had the idea to theme the sessions from the book, Twas the Night Before Christmas.  I’ll be setting up a full size mantle in between the trees, so bring along your own stockings to make it more personal and we can get some shots of you all hanging them.  And I will also have my antique white wrought iron crib with the side rails down to look like a mini-bed for the children to “nestle” in, so dress them in holiday p.j’s if you’d like, although it’s not required!

I’ll be sending more details when it gets closer, but there will be an optional upgrade to cards that can double as ornaments!

I hope everyone had a wonderful August!  I can’t believe how quickly it went!  We took the family and dog to Outer Banks, North Carolina and loved it!  I was good and took a real vacation, only answering a few calls and emails…and a few hours one night working on wedding proofs when I wasn’t sleepy.  So not used to getting that much sleep!  Hopefully someday I will get a chance to share the pictures I got…it was so beautiful and relaxing there!

Then I got home and spent a week working myself into the loony bin…laundry, school shopping, school paperwork, emails, calls, orders, proofs…who’s bright idea was it to take a vacation right after my busiest wedding month and right before school started?

The next week, I had the chance to go to a workshop…I actually had it planned since last year.  My favorite children’s photographer, many photographers and her clients of course consider her the best…was in Ohio all the way from Australia!  It was an amazing experience and I learned so much…and have so many things I am ready to start up and change for my business!  I can’t wait to get some time to sort it all out!

So that brings me to this week… I am still catching up from not being around last week, so please allow some extra time for me to get back to calls and emails, orders and proofs.  One of my favorite things I took from my workshop, mostly because I stress and have guilt over the time it takes me to get proofs out, get orders out…is that what we do is art, it is creative and custom and not a chain studio.  We can’t rush or we’ll lose some of that attention that makes our pictures special.  She actually has a 6-8 week delay for proofs and orders, let alone designs which made me feel better   I am such a perfectionist and want every family and every wedding to get my best work.

So…I promise I will have new pictures up soon, but for now a few announcements!

** First, I am holding a casting call for one boudoir model.  You must be willing to share with a TV news program about your boudoir session experience and allow some more tasteful images be public on my site and the news.  Must be someone who has always wanted to do a session like this for their boyfriend/fiancee/husband or themselves and can talk about why.  First choice would be someone who can have the session in their home, but we may work with another location if needed.  Please email me at jennifer@jennifermott.com with the subject line: boudoir casting call  and expect around a week or so to hear back from me.  You will get a free session and a large discount on prints and other items.

** Second, I have set up a fall mini session event for a few clients who I promised one to a while back… It is the evening of September 19th and will have a fall theme.  I currently have 3 spots left.  These will be 20 minute sessions for a $50 session fee and regular pricing will apply.  There may be special packages announced.  If I get enough interest, I may add one more day.  Email me at jennifer@jennifermott.com with the subject line: fall minis and expect to wait a week to hear back from me.

** Third, I will be setting up holiday mini sessions in November.  These will again be limited and will be announced soon.  This year I will have an ordering deadline for the holidays before December starts, so make sure to plan ahead if you want to order prints, cards or anything else.

I was happy to run over to the Maumee Valley Country Day School Teacher’s party to take some quick shots of the yummy food that the Two Seasoned Chicks had set out.  They’re so versatile, this was a whole different spread from the bridal shower I shot earlier in the year, but still so delicious! This first shot is of the best bread I ever had:

Right around the same time, I ran over to the wonderful photographer, Sarah’s house for a fast Christmas session with her and her adorable son.  Sarah recently moved into my hood and I ran into her while out walking the dog, I’ve been so lucky to get to know her better since then.  I’m excited to be going to a big photographer’s conference with her soon!  Isn’t her son so handsome?

First up in this set is another of my favorite families that I’ve had the pleasure to watch grow and it was so much fun to see them again, the last time was little brother’s newborn session and he has changed so much since then!  He and big sister were so in love with each other and it was really sweet to see.   Oh, and thank you for the card…I recently went out to the studio and got it after not being out that way for a while…love the card!!

This next mini was sort of an engagement session, I get to shoot this couple’s wedding next year!  It was so nice to meet you, I can’t wait for June!

And finally, another favorite and famous family…at least on the walls of my studio and the blog.  I always love seeing these guys, and was amazed at how big little brother had gotten!

Mom is a very talented graphic designer and I have loved seeing her cards the last few years.  But this year she outdid herself and I had to share some pictures!  How creative is this card??  Her website is linked above, under more of Toledo:  Viridian Creative

I hope to keep blogging more tomorrow…the third day of mini sessions, then my trip to Chicago to shoot the R family, then Stacy and Lonnie, Megan, Hayley and Matt, Colleen, Sarah, GerryAnn, Jody, Nancy, Rebecca, Kirsten and Scot’s wedding, Kimi, Sarah, the Two Seasoned Chicks (yum!), Rachel, Danielle, Elisabeth and Brett’s wedding, Bridget, and Heather…and maybe some from last night when I helped second shoot another wedding…and this week I have two newborn baby boys, a newly turned two year old, and two little girls to capture!  I definitely needed those days of rest!

I wanted to get back to catching up on the blog because I still have about 24 more to go to catch up.   Starting with the second day of the holiday mini sessions at the Whitehouse tree farm. First up is an adorable family…these three were so sweet!  It was so nice to meet you all!  And how cute is the little girl in her mom’s sunglasses?  These shots make me smile, it was so warm that day I think I was in short sleeves and all the poor families had picked out winter clothes for the session.  And to think tomorrow it’s going to be below zero, ick!

It was so great to see this next family again!  This little guy was just turning one around this time and I had the pleasure of taking his newborn pictures in his adorable room.  He was so happy and handsome at the minis…

This next family was another I had the pleasure of meeting at the minis.   As I was picking shots of each child for the blog, I realized I was choosing the same ones that they picked for the back of their card…so I included that here.

This one cracks be up because big sister was trying to get the ornaments to stay on the tree…so intent on it!!  Of course I had none of those wire hangers for safety issues so she was trying to thread the tiny hole at the top onto the tree needles.

These next two remind me of Charlie Brown’s tree, I love her look of wonder in the second one…
