Jackie and Jamile were married on May 21, 2011 and it was a gorgeous day outside at Maumee Bay State Park. They were the sweetest couple, so concerned with how everyone else was doing…and I loved how much fun they were! I wanted to show off a few images, and will definitely post more after I get them out to Jackie and Jamile!

About a month after Kate and Dave’s wedding, we met up for a trash the dress type session…Kate and Dave love the outdoors and I loved their idea to set up a tent! Out of Town Family Sessions – Toledo Family Photographer

While I was waiting on some wedding images to import into a program, I decided to just blog…without agonizing over the perfect shots to share…or I will never get caught up!

So, first up are two family sessions…large groups that got together from all over the country and met in Maumee Bay and Perrysburg. The first session, I’m including the first shot of the mom and dad/grandmother and grandfather’s hands. She got a new ring for their anniversary. The second ring shot is a newly engaged couple from the group…I loved the contrast.

The second set of images were from another family group… and I know I am leaving out a ton of people in both these sessions…but this little guy was just too stinkin cute! And I love the one with his dad…

I wanted to leave you all smiling like I do when I see this puppy session… I love dogs, and was so excited when this couple called about their Vizsla. My brother has one as well and I remembered how adorable she was as a puppy.

Baby Trash the Dresss session – Toledo Baby Photographer

I know, I said I was going to try to put up less pictures on my sneak peaks to try to speed up my workflow… I’ve been spending too much time agonizing over which images to leave out instead!

I met this family out at Maumee Bay to celebrate little S’s first birthday. She took a little while to warm up to me:

She is getting there now…this crib is kind of fun! I love how her hair kind of mimics the trees in the background:

She brought along her Yo Gabba Gabba friend. I know sometimes babies favorite toy doesn’t always look great in pictures, but when you look back you think that is “so them” at that time. I usually take a family picture where everyone holds hands. I thought it was too adorable that S’s buddy was included in this one:

Here’s where the real smiles started coming out… S’s mom told me she loves the water when we first talked and boy was she right! S ran right in. I love how she tried to save her dress from the water at first!

Worth the wind… Toledo engagement photographer

Last week I meet up with A and B for an engagement session. Another couple who loves the water and boating so we headed out to Maumee Bay. The weather was borderline ugly, windy, cold and it looked like it might rain any minute, but they were up for their session anyway. Seeing this first shot, I am so glad they were! Moody skies, a little bit of windblown hair and shirt…LOVE it!

A was brave, just a minute before this one he was *thisclose* to a snake!

And finally, who cares if it was cold outside…A and B turned up the heat!

I’m short on words tonight…recovering from a long weekend. Saturday ended up being a beautiful day for a wedding after we had a windy rainy morning! Can’t wait to go through the pictures… And today we had some wiring work going on so the power was off the computer and I had a nice day hanging out with the kids. Oh and then a super cute baby boy, Mr. Serious who made me work this evening. So I had been pretty much disconnected from the internet world since Friday night and I have some email catch up to do tomorrow.

Adam and Jess – Very Special Couple – Toledo Wedding Photographer

Last Saturday I got to spend the day with Adam and Jess out at Maumee Bay for their wedding. This was a very special wedding for me to shoot because Adam has been a good friend for years. We met working at O-I, Adam was a co-op student who got stuck helping me take hundreds of boring measurements for hours on end. We had nothing to do but talk and we had a lot in common, the love of water and water sports, old houses, remodeling, family… Adam eventually was hired on full time into my department and we worked together for several years until he moved up to Michigan to be near his family. Toward the end of his time here, he started talking about Jess. And I knew someday they would get to this point because he talked about her like he did his family.

And I was lucky enough to get to meet Jess once they were engaged and took a trip back to Toledo…and she liked my work and they wanted me to shoot their wedding. She is wonderful and they are just perfect together!

I have another picture overload for you…but I can’t help it, the day and location were just perfect!

Jess… I wanted a moody feel to these, she was so nervous and excited and ready to start. She asked if a bride could be early to her wedding:

And I had to include these of Adam and his brothers. For years I got warnings and stories about brothers from Adam as I had my own two boys:

Adam’s mom made the cake! I was amazed, it was gorgeous and SOO good!

I had to get them on the docks, Adam and his family are very into boats, I think Jess is getting there too…

When I get a chance I will have to share some pictures of their advice board…God even chimed in!

Notre Dame Academy Senior Spokes Model – Toledo Senior Photographer

Last week I met Meredith, one of my two senior spokes models from Notre Dame Academy (I had lots of interest from there and it’s my old high school, so I choose two reps, look for the other one next…) Meredith indulged me in a loooong hike to get to the spot I wanted to use, and we had great timing when we got back, the sun was just starting to set. Meredith is involved in the school musicals and has quite the dramatic personality! I got some great faces from her

This first one makes me laugh… and how beautiful is she??

Love these two, love the amazing light, the textures, her blue eyes to match her shirt, pretty smiles…

I had such a great time with you and your mom!! Can’t wait for next time…

I spent the day up in Ann Arbor again, got to meet the sweetest new baby girl. And she was the perfect model, she let me pose her every way I wanted, can’t wait to share some pictures. I’m going to catch up on more proofs and other sneak peaks first, so keep checking back!

Engagement Session

Well, after 3 or 4 reschedules, I lost count! I finally got to meet M and D today… they are such a gorgeous couple and so much fun!

I know you want black and whites, but I could help add in some color! I love the green in these! I can always convert them to B&W in your gallery
