I’m continuing my blog catching up while I have some pictures transferring…finally getting the maternity shots up from my almost-birth photography. This session was exactly one week before baby A arrived and it was a good thing we did the session this day because we thought about waiting a week and we would have missed out!

Glorious Spring Maternity session – Toledo Maternity Photographer

I’ve been excited to get to editing this session for weeks! This family is so cute, momma is gorgeous, and big sister-to-be stole the show. We managed to miss the rain that evening and found one of the first flowering trees of Spring! I’m getting the gallery ready to send out and had a hard time picking just a few favorites…

It was so nice to meet you all! I can’t wait to find out what you are having! I have been checking facebook today hoping to see…they should know by now! This is a cool idea, they had their ultra sound tech write the sex on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. They saved it for today to open at a party in front of friends and family! How fun!

Next up on my list of recent sessions to blog was a newborn…and I realized that their maternity session was one of the (18!) sessions I have yet to get up here. So I thought I would share these first!

Daddy is a fighter pilot so his nursery has an airplane theme, I loved it!

Some Pink for Your Valentine’s Day – Toledo Photographer

I hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day! We had a pretty laid back day, but I got to sleep in a little bit, see the kids get so excited to give me their cards, meet a couple to talk about their wedding day (what could be more fitting on Valentine’s day?) and eat coconut cake, which I think is my new favorite.

I’m still working on my list, and made some good progress, so I thought I would share another session from last year. And it was a very pink session, perfect for today! This was the lovely family I enjoyed spending some time with in early December…

Maternity Session – Toledo Maternity Photographer

Later in the day after Brandon’s senior session, I had a maternity session that I wasn’t sure I would share… but as it happens the timing worked that this family’s story has been on the news the last day or two so I decided it would be OK to put up a few of the less personal shots. If you haven’t seen this sad, and yet touching story, I have seen it on the Toledo stations and in the Blade, and on CNN and the Today show, so I am sure you can search if you are interested. The short story is that Carolyn and Sean thought they were going through a round of IVF with frozen embryos only to find out that they were pregnant with the wrong family’s baby. They are getting close to delivering the baby and handing him over to his parents. When we first talked about it, my heart just broke for them, and I was also very touched by the gift they are giving the other family.

Now I was very out of my comfort zone with their session as the emotions were different than my usual maternity sessions, but hopefully captured some memories for them to look back on later. So, just a few simple shots:

Gorgeous momma!! – Toledo Maternity Photographer

I am multi-tasking and have 2 more must-dos before bed…so this will be short and sweet. I traveled out to Gibsonburg this past weekend to meet L and D and all their beautiful dogs. I had so much fun with them and I am so excited about the shots I got!

When we talked about her session a while back, L wasn’t too sure about where we would do the session…what kind of backgrounds we would have. I said if nothing else we could drive and find a barn. She said she had a barn, but it was old…I told her that was the best kind, and look, I just love these!!!

The dogs liked to join in, I have some fun ones, but I love this one with his nose at the heart, and the swirl of the background in the black and white:

Anticipating Baby A – Toledo Maternity Photographer

On Sunday morning I met up with V who is expecting a sweet little baby girl soon. We had a marathon session, since she was open to anything and we both had some great ideas to try. I’ll put a few of the less revealing shots up for now…when I’m done editing, V may approve of a few of the fun ones for my site. Did I mention how gorgeous she is? Here are just two of my favorites from the house that I can put up now:

I have a senior session from Sunday afternoon to post next…probably tonight. Urban, downtown Toledo, with another new chair and a beautiful girl…fun! And this weather? Well, last night’s session was postponed for a few weeks and I’m not getting my hopes up for tonight. Although think good weather thoughts for us because this is going to be a fun session and I hope to see this family again!

I had beauty overload tonight… met a funny, sweet, beautiful expecting couple earlier. And their house, big huge windows everywhere, big porches, pretty colors, and on a lake. Talk about my dream home

You know by now how much I love this type of shot, I really love this one:

Busy busy the rest of the night. I stopped to grab dinner on the way home, ate with the family, got the kids dressed for bed, ran to UPS, then the grocery store, then the gas station (ouch) then home putting groceries away at 10!! Then 2 hours setting up my new monitor, calibrating 3 times…and playing with the cool rotate feature I didn’t know I had…how cool is a vertical monitor?? I guess my proofing I was going to get done tonight will have to happen during Lost tomorrow! And I will get back to all emails tomorrow too!

Fun Maternity

Met up with a wonderful family today…and I swear I have met both of them in the past at some point, they looked so familiar. Dad grew up in the same part of town that I did and I bet mom was around when one of my youngest two came into this world. Toledo is a small town, I am always amazed at the connections that come up when I meet new people.

As usual, I had too many I wanted to share…I think I’m getting worse! But I loved so many, and I already pared it down! I’ve noticed I’ve been processing a lot more in color than black and white lately, I don’t know if it’s because spring is here or what, but with the beautiful colors they had in there house I had to show it off. Here’s mom and the super adorable super sweet soon to be big sister:

And in the baby’s nursery, I love this color!! They don’t know what they’re having yet and I think this is perfect:

And I LOVE their dog, she was my assisstant…I could have petted her all day. And something different, barefoot and pregnant! One of my favorites!

Fun maternity tonight

I had a maternity session tonight…isn’t mom so pretty? She is due in exactly a month, I can’t wait to meet her baby girl!

I love sun flare, can you see the rainbow on their jeans? I love the light at this time of day…so gald the weather has been warming up!!

I REALLY love this shot… hopefully mom likes it too. I think her expression as she looks at her dog is priceless! It’s a better watch it dog look

Tonight was fun guys! Can’t wait to get together again in a few weeks!

I’m so excited for a nice weekend! 80 tomorrow, did I hear that right? yeah!
