Toledo Rep and Courtyard at the Navy Wedding – Toledo Photographer

I had a slideshow up from Kirsten and Scot’s December wedding a little while back, but I wanted to give them a proper posting with my favorites. If you don’t remember, they wanted nothing posed…a fully photojournalistic, candid wedding. I love it!

This was such a favorite of mine…Kirsten’s dad working on his speech while everyone was getting ready.

Kirsten is gorgeous!

Kirsten and her friends grew up acting in the Toledo Rep, and the wedding ceremony had several original musical acts depicting how Scot and Kirsten met, a typical day, etc! I was SOO impressed by the talent of everyone and the show was quite entertaining!

I always love watching the parents of the couple…

Kirsten’s matron of honor had to go on a military tour of Iraq and miss the wedding. She was able to watch the ceremony and reception and deliver her speech through Skype…there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

The Courtyard at the Navy is such a beautiful spot for a reception!

A Lovely Family in Chicago – Child Photographer

In November I traveled to Chicago to shoot this wonderful family! I originally thought that they were referred through one of my many connections in Chicago, my brother or one of his friends or through one of the other families or friends of families that I’ve had sessions with before who have friends out that way. But no, mom just found me on the internet and brought me out…how flattering!

I was able to bring my kids and mom along to turn the trip into a short visit with my brother and a trip to the Lego store, the American Girl store, and the Cheesecake Factory. Everyone was happy!

Meet the adorable children of the R family! And I have to say, they have the most adorable names too! Almost wanted to rename my three

I swear there is nothing better than Chicago neighborhoods with the fencing and I was so excited that there was still some fall color…

We did most of this happy little guy inside…

And finally, a few of big sister in her beautiful bedroom…I loved it! And she was just the most beautiful little sweetie!

I will be short on words tonight, it is late and I want to get this up and get some sleep! I have been very busy with the behind the scenes things, so the blog has been slow again.

Check out this gorgeous couple on their beautiful wedding day!

OK, I do have one thing to say…Brooke warned me that Adam would hate getting his pictures taken, but I think he did just fine, love this shot! (Meeting and practicing at the engagement session always helps!)

I wanted to get these out tonight…I’m tired and ready for bed, so I will let these shots and her beauty speak for themselves:

OK, had to comment on this one, I LOVE the yellow, so much fun!

And this one, I did NOT do anything to their eyes in photoshop…they were just that blue! This is my senior and her beautiful sister (see told you guys: your eyes, the colors of your tops, the grass…perfect!)

Sweeter than ice cream – Toledo Newborn and Child Photographer

I was so so honored that this family packed up their 9 day old baby and preschooler and drove 3 hours from Cleveland to my Grand Rapids studio for a session last week. One of the many reasons that I love Grand Rapids…dad and I were able to take big sister for some ice cream and pictures in the cutest spot while mom feed baby brother back at the studio…just what they both needed after a long car trip! You might recognize this little one from my (in need of an update) blog header…the one with her mom at her wedding:

And she had to have the nest basket shot. This was not an easy task, but I am so glad we kept at it with Mr. Fussy! LOVE this shot!

Still working to catch up on my editing…and making some good progress! My bedtime has been 2-3 am every day since vacation, but I am getting there and will get back to normal soon. Thanks to all for your patience!!

Kevin and Danielle engaged! – Toledo Engagement Photographer

Last weekend…I also go to spend the evening with Kevin and Danielle… and laugh until it hurt. (I was going to go with my usual initials, but when you see Danielle’s shirt, you’ll see why I didn’t bother) Kevin is a huge goofball and Danielle is the gorgeous, sweet “straight” woman in his comedy routine… They are also the brains (and heart) behind Toledo Unleashed, trying to get a dog park set up here. If you’r eas excited about having a good, safe place for your dog to run free and socialize with other dogs, sign this petition (click here to link). We had one in Portland that we took our dog to and I can’t wait for the Toledo version!

Meet Danielle and Kevin. If you’ve been to a Mud Hen or Univeristy of Toledo game recently, you’ve heard him before… oh, and in between these two pictures, we almost got run over by Ben Konop…I’m telling you, exciting night.

Danielle looked INCREDIBLE in this dress!

Second Notre Dame Academy Senior Spokes Model – Toledo Senior Photographer

Meet Alaina, we met up downtown last week because she loves bright colors and really liked where I took a few of my other seniors. I just love how the red shirt she wore pops out in this setting!!

I just love the lighting in these first few, and isn’t she gorgeous? We had quite a few cars circle the block a few times to re-check her out…

My busy few weeks have been catching up to me and I didn’t feel well yesterday. I’m much better today and catching up on proofing all those sessions, thanks for your patience, your beautiful pictures will be worth it!

Meet Kelsey, from the class of 2010at Whitmer. As a dancer, she just knew how to pose and made my job super easy! Which was good because we had the best time chatting, Kelsey has the bubbliest personality! Loved out session last week…

Kelsey wanted colorful and when I saw her beautiful eyes, I knew I had to hit up my favorite blue spots downtown. Check this next one out, hello supermodel!

She was so happy, had such a gorgeous smile, I had to take tons like these…

Bedford Senior Spokes Model 2010 – Toledo Senior Photographer

Meet Brandon, my spokes model from Bedford! He told me he always had an interest in modeling and I think he would be amazing at it, my camera loved him! He’s a great guy too, and was so willing to go along with whatever I wanted. So this will be image-overload, but it’s only about half of my favorites that I wanted to show off.

We traveled around downtown Toledo, I just love these ones…and his eyes are gorgeous! The blues I found for backgrounds really brought them out! And he has a great smile and I love those ones, but the serious ones looked like they should be in a magazine or ad…

I had planned to go to bed early tonight, just wanted to blog this quickly and answer a few emails… then I hear this huge thunk overhead. Lucy had fallen out of her big girl bed and hit the hardwood floor. She has rails on, but she moved so much she went off the foot of the bed and over the pillow wall we set up. So I ended up laying down with her until she calmed down and I was sure she was OK. So, the emails didn’t get answered. I apologize to everyone! I haven’t been home the last 2 days at all, appointments after appointments, but tomorrow and Friday I have lots of time set aside to catch up.

This past weekend I was lucky to meet this fun girl…we laughed so much! She has the bubbliest personality! Her mom set up the appointment to get some shots in her dance outfits. I love this one we got before she started changing:

I have contacted my senior reps, started booking sessions…I’m updating my contract from last year and will have it out to you and your parents in the next few days. I’ve been freeing up space on my computer for all these sessions coming up and my first wedding of the year this weekend! So excited, think good thoughts for the weather for J and J!!
