A Few Quick Sessions for Friends – Toledo Photographer

I’ve been so lucky through my past few years in this business to make some wonderful new friends with other small business owners. It’s so great to get to know these other women who are going through a lot of the same things I do…and I am always so flattered when they ask me to photograph them!

I was happy to run over to the Maumee Valley Country Day School Teacher’s party to take some quick shots of the yummy food that the Two Seasoned Chicks had set out. They’re so versatile, this was a whole different spread from the bridal shower I shot earlier in the year, but still so delicious! This first shot is of the best bread I ever had:

Right around the same time, I ran over to the wonderful photographer, Sarah’s house for a fast Christmas session with her and her adorable son. Sarah recently moved into my hood and I ran into her while out walking the dog, I’ve been so lucky to get to know her better since then. I’m excited to be going to a big photographer’s conference with her soon! Isn’t her son so handsome?

Holiday Mini Session Round 1, part 1 – Toledo Family Photographer

This was the first day of my holiday mini sessions out at Whitehouse Tree Farm I’m splitting up the sessions into two posts, there were so many I wanted to share!

Thsi first family is a favorite of mine…I’m so honored that friends from my kids’ school asked me to do their family pictures. The middle boy is in my oldest’s class and their youngest is my middle son’s new kindergarten buddy. Dad is our soccer coach… they’re such good kids and we had so much fun! Check out the handsome boys:

Such a cute family

This little one was in the studio for pictures not too long ago and it was great to see her and her mom again and meet dad! This first one with her little belly hanging out kills me!

She’s so adorable and that outfit is too cute!

This was the third time I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous family…it’s been so fun to watch them grow! The last time I saw them was almost a year ago when their little guy was a newborn! I couldn’t believe he was almost one already!

The cookies from my favorite ladies at Two Seasoned Chicks were a big hit if you can’t tell from their faces!

Family Getting Together – Toledo Family Photographer

I met with this wonderful family a little while back on their beautiful property. Some came in from Chicago and some from Florida…but they all brought the cuties! Starting with this little guy, check out the suspenders, LOVE them!!

I am getting there on my to-do list! I will be closed August 9-12, any emails and orders that come in will be processed after that time.

I may be planning a working trip to Chicago for November 8th or 9th through the 10th. Perfect time for Christmas card pictures or a session around town…I LOVE Chicago and there are so many perfect spots for pictures! If you’re interested, please let me know now so I can plan!

My Boys and a fisheye, Toledo Child Photographer

I got a fisheye for the studio opening, instead I played with the kids with it while snowed in Saturday. I edited these the other day and thought I would put them up quick because I am not going to get to the sneak peak from this Sunday’s sessions yet. Because I got a late start to work tonight. Tim asked if I was going to work on the computer, and I was like, yes, like I always do…and he said you might want to go to the store first. Mr. Max had managed to pull the power cord into his crate and completely chew it up today. Luckily he must have pulled it out of the wall before he chewed or he would have had quite a shock. So off to the store I went, then had to find a 3 prong to 2 prong converter because I didn’t pay attention at the store. Then I got to reset my color and all of a sudden it’s late.

This is Duncan’s room, I’ve been wanting to get a shot of all of his Star Wars Legos spread out all over his floor. He’s probably close to half done, so it’s not as bad as it was. The set was the only thing he wanted, and Santa can make it so he doesn’t have to worry that it costs a lot or that it is backordered until February. Did I complain here about my ebay purchase that I did with plenty of time from what looked like a reputable seller only to get a last minute cancellation? Or that Santa was super lucky to find one on craigslist in Phoenix but got to pay to ship all 30+ pounds of it overnight the day before Christmas Eve? Well here is all 3800 pieces and over 200 pages of instructions, he’s actually doing really well:

What Christmas Vacation? Toledo Family Photographer

So…did anyone see me on the news Christmas Eve? I was contacted that afternoon by NBC24 to talk about my donation to a needy family. After going back and forth and not sure if we could work it out last minute…Rebecca Solomon came out to my family Christmas gathering at my aunts house and did a little interview and had me fake a session with my kids (yeah…they were cooperative! talk about show offs) I was surprised to see that it was the top story at 11 that night! I have been getting many contacts about deserving families. I have no idead how I will choose one, but please if you know someone, let me know. Other than a marathon wrapping session on the 23rd since I haven’t had time, and turning off the computer on the 24th and 25th…I’ve been working, working, working. And happy to have helped out some of my favorite families with cards and gifts. One of my favorite moms got in touch for an emergency last minute session to get her girls in the adorable dresses they got from their Grandma:

Holiday Cheer – Toledo Children’s Photographer

How can you not smile at these faces?? Two of my favorite brothers, we’ve had a few sessions this year…mom called me for an emergency Christmas card picture. She is a graphic designer and her cards are seriously the cutest ever! But she has the same problem I do with my own kids, they won’t cooperate for their mom for pictures. So I made a quick visit and these are not the card pictures, but I had to share because A cracks me up and we can all use a smile in the stressful- getting everything ready for Christmas time!

I have a crazy amount of emails that came in today…I have some editing to do and then I will wade through as many as I can before bed!

Holiday session – Grand Rapids Ohio studio and on location photographer

REal quick announcement… I am having email trouble! I keep getting failure notices for emails I sent 3-4 days in the past. And then I have been told that someone sent me an email and I don’t see it for a day or two. I don’t trust my email right now, although I am trying to figure out how to fix this. If you don’t hear back from me within 24 hours of your email, please retry or call or look me up on facebook and send something that way…or comment here.

I’m going to let the pictures do the talking tonight, it’s past bedtime. These girls were some of the first on my website long ago. They came down to Grand Rapids this time and we did some shots in the studio and out around town.

First Studio Session – Grand Rapids, Toledo Child Photographer

Well, the studio isn’t ready yet, still lots to do, but it made for the perfect spot for a few last minute holiday sessions this weekend.

First up, two gorgeous girls!! And I love their outfits! This first shot… aside from seomthing I don’t get of my own kids, so sweet!! What gets me about this one too, the lighting is so perfect at the studio. This is straight out of the camera:

Mom thought the outfits called for an old-fashioned sepia, I love this one that way, and then big sister is so stunning!

Grand Rapids, really is the perfect spot to find cute little nooks for photos… and are these next two not to die for? I am buying these coats off mom in a few years And little sister is so spunky and sweet:

Skipping back in the snow, I had so much fun with you all!

Emails and phone calls to be returned tomorrow…it was a busy weekend and I tried to keep up, but I have a lot to get back to, so please hang with me!

Holiday session – Toledo family photographer

I know mom is patiently waiting for these… this last weekend I headed up to Erie Orchards and met up again with one of the most gorgeous families ever. You may remember them from earlier this year on the lake.

Just quick today, a few of my favorites. The youngest wasn’t feeling well, poor guy!

I’m trying to get proofs, orders, card mock-ups, book designs, and emails handled as best as I can right now… everything is coming in at once! I will be taking the nights of Thursday and Friday off from the computer so I am trying to get it all done now. Tim’s birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year so we are going to go out on Friday instead. But I will be working this weekend, I have sessions and I have access to start setting up the studio…

I am just on the computer for a minute and I realized that my post from last night was not posted! Luckily it was saved as a draft… I just read a ton more emails and got some voicemails I am on my way out again, so I will have to get back to you a little later! OK, last night’s post:

Really quick one tonight…I definitely have more to do than I have time. This was another mini session from this last weekend. These kids and mom and dad were all so fun!

I am working and trying to answer an email here and there. I’m trying to work back and get the ones from Monday and Tuesday first so please be patient with me at my busiest time of the year!!
